The Rangers will certainly be in some trouble. This has to be their year. I'm still fairly convinced Lou, Shero, Holland saw the storm clouds looming and acted accordingly. Sure they were all in the Parise sweepstakes but it seems a bit reckless for arguably the 3 best GMs in the league to go all in on a 70 point winger. I think they knew what was ahead and as a result are all in pretty good shape cap wise.

i do agree. dont get me wrong the devils will miss parise but lets face it if he couldnt put up 100pts here i doubt he will put them up in minnesota with all the pressure of that contract. was he worth 100 million? probably not. but it still will sting the devils.


hopefully with the crop of free agents next season the devils can make a splash. heck i know the ducks are looking to dump getz/ryan or even perry

both perry and getz are ufa after this season and im sure the cash strapped ducks will be looking to move either one of them. could get them on the cheap.

devils are really set up pretty good when the cap drops next season. i dont see zubrus coming back and elias wont be getting 6 million. clarkson unless he puts up another solid season wont get a huge bump. only real problem is zajac. team really cant let him walk. if they have to over pay for him then so be it.

Interesting. I see at least one of our defenceman being shipped out to a team with D issues that needs to reach the cap floor. If Zubrus walks hopefully Matteau will be ready to take his spot.

A lot of expiring contracts over the next 2 years so I have some faith. Hopefully a lot of potential suitors for Zajac will be out of the running due to cap constraints.

zajac i have a feeling is going to bolt town and head "home" to winnipeg. ugh! why did they have to put a team back there!?!?!?!?!?!

With Zajac, he might be willing to sign for less money and go to Winnipeg. I hope not but who knows what he is thinking.
With Parise, I think he made up his mind a year before he signed with the Wild. He purposely signed a 1 year deal to leave the option of possibly signing with Minnesota. I do think NJ was his number 2 team, but his number 1 choice all along was to go to Minnesota.
It was all planned.

Parise made up his mind as soon as ownership "picked" Kovy. Don't want to start a fight, but it's the way it went down. Lou is to blame just as much as the bankrupt owners.

Note: There are compliance buyouts so the Rangers will be fine.
