Indy 500 qualifying proceedures changed up again

Under the most recent format, the top 22 positions were locked in on Saturday, with a nine car "shoot-out" at the end of the afternoon to determine the top three rows: Then the back 11 spots were determined on Sunday.

I get how this new format will add more excitement to the Sunday session - and thus bring in more paying spectators.

... And that, at the end of the day, is what this new procedure is REALLY all about IMO. :rollseyes:

And, for the past few years, they've had problems getting 34 or 35 cars all told to try out for spots in the 1st place! - So what happens if people decide to skip the Saturday session now, since it really doesn't mean anything much now?

They are turning into little hitlers and behaving like Brian France to the point they are going to kill the sport in their attempt at assuaging their greed. Just leave well enough alone.
