Walsh owed Montana more than Montana owed him!

Walsh was good, but not that good.

I think neither would have been as successful as he was without the other. Walsh's system was tailor made for Montana.

Plus, Joe didn't have to go against the Cowboys of the 90s every freakin' year in the playoffs. There wasn't a team in the 80s that as good for as long as the Cowboys were in those years.

There were a lot of very good teams the 49ers had to beat in the 80s including the Cowboys in 81. There were some great Giants, Eagles, Bears and Redskin teams. Hell, even the Rams were good.
