There's nothing he can do. We simply don't have the players to compete.

If I were marvin, I wouldn't have gone the whole off season being ok with the defensive unit we had to dress. It was obvious 4 months ago our defense was going to blow, and no one should be surprised.

Also, the 3rd and short playcalling was terrible and led to a couple stalled drives. At 3rd and 1 or 3rd and 2, when BGE was running for 5yds every time he touched it, there is no reason to throw a 15 yard pass to Gresham over the middle. Any time our receivers got chipped off the line, the plays down field fell apart.

If I was in my tenth season as a Head Coach on one team and I had a sub .500 record and no playoff wins, I'd probably stop signing extensions.

Why stop? For $3mill a year, I'd keep working until I was tossed out the door....he's got a gravy job....good year, bad year, mediocre year, Mike always wants him back.....

I would have punched Mike Zimmer in the face. That D was terrible.

Kevin Coyle was an underrated coach - We miss him.

I would have replaced every LB on the field with people who actually can read plays and know where to be. Our LBs are absolutely horrific.

Zimmer coaches the players Marvin puts on the field (including FA and rookies). If you're given crap to prepare the meal, crap is going to be served.

I agree there.....If your talent sucks, you're not going anywhere. But what struck me about last night was a complete lack of discipline. If you are just getting beat by people bigger and faster, that's one thing, but if you're falling for every stupid play action fake and bootleg in the book that's quite another. The Bengals have had this same problem each and every year that Marvin has been a coach.

And we haven't had good linebackers in Marvin's entire tenure. How can a guy that supposedly cut his teeth coaching linebackers be this miserable at identifying guys that can play?
