This likely would not even be a discussion if we would not have lost all the linebackers annd half the DL. We probably would be better off to drop the last two for better draft positioning and then not draft a fucking TE and receiver in the first 3 rounds. Have to go with DL,S and cb. That INT was on Romo IMO. Garrett had every right to question the stupidity of that play change. I am not a huge Garrett fan but what. Good coach would want to work for Jerrah?

honestly the best thing that could happen to the cowboys would be to lose the final two games. Forcing some kinda change for next year. Now with that said I am not like the BS fans that are happy when we lose so they can talk trash. If we were 2-12, I would still be rooting for us to win the final two games no matter what. Come Sunday I always root for a win. Just it would be better at this point if we lost. (& I would still be disappointed that we lost)

Don't worry, I don't think we win Sunday. I have seen this movie too many times. I am convinced that we will never win again with Jerah at the helm. He will never ever get it.

Well then you must keep walking out before the ending.

It's going to come down to the Philly game with 29 seconds left ..that's when you will know how it ends.

but 29 seconds is not the story in win or go home games for this team
group effort meltdown is and we better hope Philly loses this week to get your game. I don't think Dallas wins another game this year

I can see the cowboys beating the eagles in the final if it is a meaningless game.

It just wouldn't be a fitting end to the story if we lose and Philly wins this week. It's gotta go to week 17...

Exactly, with the Eagles up by 3 with 1:30 left in the game, 2 timeouts and Dallas's ball at their own 25 yard line. Then Romo throws an INT at the Eagles 35 yard line, then it will be a fitting end to the Cowboy season.

Wow, and I am the one usually of being accused at looking at a half empty glass. That game didnt mean a damn thing the other day except to our psyche. Sure if we win Sunday and Philly loses we would have won the division. The same can be said about winning the Detroit , KC, SD , Denver games as well. We didnt get it done then but we do still control our own fate.

You are in the same boat the Chargers were when we were stuck with GM AJ Smith and HC Norv Turner. Even though we will not make the playoffs this year, there is a definite improvement over last year. Now, if we can draft some O line folks to protect River's blindside, we should make a run next year.

"Didn't mean a damn thing". Then you go on to say "Sure if we win Sunday and Philly loses we would have won the division". It's as if you, yourself are trying to prove your comment wrong. If we won last week all we needed to do was beat Philly. We could have lost this week or we could have gained a game on Philly this week and lost to them week 17 and still have won the division...didn't mean a damn thing was a real head scratcher...

I thought the same thing. That game last week damn sure was important!! All the pressure would have been on Philly this week!! Now we have all the pressure this week. Your up 26-3 and the division leader just lost. That game was a colossal failure.

You could say the same thing about our other losses too. If we just win one- but we didnt. Its over with- cant change it . Do we control our own destiny? Yes. Jarntt - you have said all year it was never a must win until it was said that we had to win or we were done.

It wasn't a must win. It WAS a big game. There is a difference.

I think you are off your game the last two days. You seem to just be trying to disagree. You seem to throw something out there this week and then fumble around trying to back up the point and it seems you really didn't mean it in the first place.

Don't take it personal. I usually enjoy our banter back and forth. My favorites are the ones when you get yourself all worked up and then come back and apologize because you went on a rant. I just am having trouble making sense of what you are trying to say this week.

I made a mistake on Murray. Fact is I think he is probably the most underrated or unheralded player on this team. I love Garrett as well. The one thing though that I have disagreed with him on is Murray. Maybe Im reading too much into it, but he just seems to me that he treats him more with tough love than he does others.

I think Garrett has done a great job with reversing some of the damage that Jerry has done with regards to the culture of this team. He has brought back accountability and competition. Would we have seen Claiborne being benched for Scandrick a few years ago? I do feel he has been a Romo apologist until this week and that probably has been one of his bigger mistakes from a leadership point of view. You can't allow your $100M veteran QB to do the same thing over and over and make excuses for him or point out which WR "messed up" to make it easier on Romo. But In general he has slowly started to run this team like a Football team again.

That being said, it's been clear for 3 years that he just cannot grasp the time management aspect of the game and that is one of the biggest things you want from your HC on Sundays. He also panics when things get tight and has not shown the ability to stick with the run. The guy that is a stabilizing force during the week by staying even keeled seems to come unraveled when the team needs him to be in control. I think his time here should be done unless something unexpected happens in the next few weeks. I do feel that he has lost us games with his poor decisions and that is inexcusable.

I also think his offense needs to go. There is little motion to help guys get open or to help the QB read the defense or confuse the defense when they are doubling Dez. The patterns just don't seem to work together to create the separation other teams get. Yes, guys get open, but it's almost like 3 separate guys doing 3 separate things. The patterns don't seem to work together to draw the defense away from certain players to free them up. One of the best things Romo does is the PAP, but we don't run enough to capitalize on that. It's like every play and every pattern within those plays stands on it's own. Where the heck was Dunbar all year? I know he was injured at times, but even when he wasn't we basically saw him for one quarter even though we all saw in the preseason how good he could be in space and as a change of pace guy. We heard about the height of our receivers in the red zone with Dez, Witten and Escobar (don't read this as me thinking he is any good, but he's big), but how often do we even try to use that? Yes our RZ offense is good, but it seems few of the TDs from around the 5 yard line or closer are capitalizing on this size. It's back shoulder throws to Dez and passes to Witten when he is sitting down on his spot.

For the reasons you mentioned is exactly why I think Garrett's time here should be done as well. However, I don't really think there is anything wrong with his offense. Dez Bryant is a poor route runner more often than not, and Romo isn't making the correct reads more often than not. Miles Austin is getting absolutely no separation from his defenders. Completely different from 2009 when he got open seemingly after every release. Jason Witten also doesn't get separation as much as he used to, but he still can make defenders look foolish every now and then because he's still a great route runner. But he's a great route runner with a lot of mileage. The one guy who is getting open the most consistently isn't seeing the field nearly enough, and that's Cole Beasley. He should be getting at least 50 snaps a game.
