Disney will put all their eggs in the SECs basket, they just wanted to fuck texas on the side for a little while

Yeah I guess the main point being that the BTN would gain the two biggest brands on the market in college football. BTN is their competitor whom disney basically forced into existence. Nothing in the world would piss disney off more than this.

I recognize the rumors of conference realignment can be crazy, but Texas joining the B1G would be like they're saying Nebraska knows what's best. Also, following Nebraska into the conference is still better than following Colorado anywhere. Texas and ND would be a HUGE score for the B1G ---> like Texas or not. If true, there goes TO's hope for an equal start for the baseball team in spring. Would Oklahoma come with Texas to the B1G? That would be a better football conference than the SEC. The sports match-up posibilities would be amazing. ESPN would be screwed for sure.

I guess the latest they would possibly play anywhere cold and outdoors is early Nov. which isn't too bad, unless your from texas it could be, but not for people who live in a cold climate

Just going by Wikipedia's average monthly temps, the November avg. high in Lincoln is 49 degrees (low of 27) and in Minneapolis it's a high of 40 degrees (low of 25). So I guess pretty similar despite the latitude difference. Nebraska is farther from the lakes...

It's been reported that Dave Boren called Jim Delany today and was told "no".

I think it's more about Oklahoma wanting to have Okie Lite stay with them than it is saying no to Oklahoma. There's absolutely zero chance of Oklahoma State getting an invitation.

I do think it would be awesome to add Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. As I've said elsewhere, the Big Ten doesn't need Mizzou to have Missouri's television market (since STL and KC sit on the borders with Illinois and Kansas). Mizzou is more valuable to the SEC.

I say get the best lawyers in the country together and write up a "bullet proof" contract that would ensure league equality.

Then let them in. I can tell you this, after a year of playing quality teams week in and out and noone including UT or ND will be hell bent to play someone who has a chance of beating them.

But closer to the plains, may not get the snow effect of chicago or duluth but the wind will bite your ass.

I'd actually like to play ND and the Whorns on a regular basis. Would be very high profile games. And I'd love to see us kick their damn asses. Repeatedly.

Chicago doesn't get that much snow. It's the other side of the lake (where the prevailing wind from the west passes over the lake, picks up moisture, and then dumps it).

Like this:

Detroit and Cleveland are getting dumped on, Chicago not so much.
