...it will mark the first time ever that three teams from one league won 100+ games in a season.
BOS (107-52)
HOU (100-58)

On 6 occurrences there's been three teams win 100+ games in a season (1942, 1977, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2017), but that includes both leagues.
8 teams that won 100+ games failed to qualify for the playoffs---the most recent being the San Francisco Giants in 1993 (103-59). All of these teams finished 2nd in their league/division. That wouldn't happen with today's format. Thank God. That is just brutal to have that great of a season and no playoffs.
