How the hell does a goalie hit a rut in the ice in warmups & probably be done for the year?

Well that's what happened to Kevin Poulin tonight before the Leafs vs Islanders game. He couldn't put any weight on his left leg as he was helped off the ice. He left the coliseum on crutches. He didn't go to the hospital. Kevin will have an MRI tomorrow.

Poulin has a dislocated knee cap. He will require surgery. Kevin is out for the remainder of the season.

Anybody know how long it could take to recover from this injury. I know a dislocated elbow can take 6 months to 1 year.
