I couldn't believe it that they hadn't won a playoff game in 20 or so years until I looked it up. I guess I still remember how good the Bengals were in the '80s.

Let's not write their obituary yet. Last night, they played awful with a decimated defense and horrible offense and still almost won the game. I know Miami is bad but this is still the NFL and teams can shock you on any given Sunday.
The offense has to step up. All of them. For as bad as Andy was, the offense line was equally as bad and the drops by our receivers are inexcusable, particularly on 3rd down. Sanu didn't exactly help our effort last night and Gresham is just his typical moronic self.

Losing Atkins does suck, but the defense is still in decent shape overall.
Silver lining is that the Bengals played about as bad as you can play, and you can argue they should have won that game several times. Shit happens. Move one to the next one.

I think its more about the key injuries on defense than the loss, at least it is for me.
Frankly, I expected this kind of performance against the Jets, so when we blew them out, I had a feeling last night would be a stinker.

There is a reason that most Thurs. night games have sucked...it's too short of a week to recover from Sunday.
What needs to happen, is they need to find a way to have teams play on thursday coming off a bye week. So, don't start any thurs night games, except for season opener, until the bye weeks begin. Yeah, you are shortening your exposure on Thurs night football, but you are going to put a better product on the field for those games.
It would give each team extra time before Thurs.night and extra rest after thurs night.
