If Allen wasnt there at #17, who would have been the pick?

I think this would be interesting. Everyone knows (even gk,skinsdad, socal, and shark) that Allen was going to get selected b/c we got lucky he fell. I want to know from everyone who would you take at #17 if Allen didn't drop? I curious to see where everyone would go.

My pick would of been Harris from Missouri.

If everyone who was on the board at 17 was there and we didnt go Allen, I would have gone Foster who also fell alot farther than expected. Behind him I likely would have gone Cook.

But this would require going back and looking at who was really on the board at that time.

Foster fell b/c of his shoulder. There are rumors that he will need a 2nd should surgery. Allen has shoulder problems but not like Foster. It will be interesting to see if Anderson will stay at OLB or move to ILB. If he can play both that would be great. I think by passing on Cunnigham and McMilliam both ILB's spoke volumes on how they felt about Anderson. If Anderson can create a pass rush from the OLB position that should be the end of Murphy. Anderson strength is his run defense and to set the edge.

Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson reports 49ers first-round ILB Reuben Foster was "medically rejected" by some teams due to concerns with his shoulder.

It falls in line with what The Ringer's Mike Lombardi and USA Today's Tom Pelissero have reported in the days since the draft. ESPN's Adam Schefter added to it Wednesday, saying some believe Foster's surgically-repaired shoulder may give out at any moment, while others don't even believe the first surgery fixed the issue. Foster reportedly has problems with his labrum and rotator cuff, possibly in both shoulders. The 49ers felt comfortable enough to trade up for him.

No way he was going that high. The 49ers wanted Thomas. They gave the bs to Chi that someone was trying to trade up to #2 for Mitch and the Bears bought it.

I must be missing something. Please explain your logic on this one. The 49ers didn't take Foster at #3 so why would they have taken him at #2? What do the Bears have to do with any of this?

Foster's injuries are obviously a big concern for many teams. Otherwise - some team would have moved up to grab him at least in the middle of the 1st round.
