He looked good Sunday night. Not just at stuffing the run either, he was moving well for a big man.

I mean with Sims hurt why not? We could use another big run stuffer to go with Peko. And Peko looked like the top teir DT I've been hearing he was supposed to be against the Jets. He was just man handling all the linemen in front of him and they have some damn good linemen. He was even throwing Mangold around.

I'd rather him start than Atkins on running downs.

I don't think Atkins will be starting on 1st downs. I know he is listed as the starter but I just don't see it. I think he will be a pss rush guy. The run D did look great though in the last 2 games and I have to imagine Atkins was in there for a lot of it.

We definitely have little to lose in giving Shirley a really good look.....actually we have very little to lose in trying anything new.......
