1.5 sacks and 16 tackles in 4 games doesn't sound so monstrous for a monster. And its odd, or maybe it isn't, that Wilkerson's most monstrous seasons came playing with Harrison.

As I referenced earlier, it's a lot more complex in signing free agents. He may not have had any interest in coming here. Or SM didn't want to get into a bidding war. But we just didn't have the ammo to fill every need this year.. I suspect DL will be priority one next year (assuming we aren't in the QB lottery).

Harrison is a Giant now, but J's on point. He's also on point imo about the complexity of FA. Are some positions seen as more valuable than others? W/O question they are, but that doesn't mean the un-sexy positions aren't important. As Redskin fans we've seen that first hand with a few un-sexy positions like DT/NG and center.

I'm not advocating that the Skins go out and sign a FA DT to some huge contract, but at the same time. If you treat a position like an afterthought. You may just end up with players at that position who play like an afterthought. I'm not saying that's what Scotty Mac did, at least not purposely. He was with the 9ers when Justin Smith was an elite interior DL. I'm sure he knows the position's value. But it would seem when the opportunity presented itself to get Norman. SM decided he was worth going out and getting. I'll bite the bullet far as the Skins not being able to beef up other positions. Eventually though at some point those other positions will have to take some type of priority and be properly addressed. I'd love it if that can get done with 4th, 5th and 5th rd draft pk, but lets face it. Isn't it about time the Skins got a real safety again and a real DT? I think so.
