First off, I'd like to just say that I'm a complete moron for getting as upset as I did last week after the Michigan game. I said I didn't care if we lost to Iowa or what bowl game we end up in...............I was being a douche and was over-dramatic en sech. Handling Iowa put a big fucking smile on my face and had we lost that game I would have thrown up probably.

With all that said, I really want to meet up with Arkansas or Georgia in a bowl game. I think these 2 teams would equally provide the greatest challenge for the Huskers and that is what is most important to me. I'd like to see us end the year with the most difficult game we can possibly get. If we should lose, so be it. Beating a lesser opponent doesn't do much in building towards the future......but competing against greater opponents does.

In order for the guys to grow, I really think they need the grestest challenge they can get. Thus, please bring on an SEC opponent and let's test out the character and resiliency of this Husker football team :smokin:

Insight Bowl... versus... that's right, the BIG12 #4.

At best, the Gator Bowl (vs SEC #6)... probably Auburn, maybe UF.

The Florida trip is going to come down to Penn St and Nebraska. The non-pick goes to the Insight in Arizona.

Nebraska beat Penn St on a crazy week in Happy Valley, but Penn St has the better conference record.

I expect Penn St to get the Florida nod because they travel well (like Husker fans) and the Insight would love a BIG XII reunion.

Bowls are about politics (oops I said that word) and putting butts in seats. The Bowl Committees are local city officials and bussinessmen/women. They'll do a lot of backroom/teleconference bartering to get the teams they want.

Nebraska/Texas would have the Insight Bowl licking their chops. If they're both available when it's their turn, they'll be gone.

Idk.....it sounds like the Capitol One Bowl is really interested in Nebraska right now. It all comes down to money though......it doesn't matter if Nebraska is 3rd or 7th in the Big 10, if a Bowl committee decides they want our fanbase then they are going to select us over the likes of a team like Michigan State for instance.

There are 2 Florida bowls that choose before the Insight bowl though. Which one are we talking about? I have read where both the Capitol One bowl and the Outback bowl are interested in the Huskers.

I heard tmart dissed one of them right in front of their rep.

'Assuming' Wisky goes to the Rose and Michigan gets an At Large BCS......

Michigan St is projected by espn to go to the Capital One as a 10 win team. A benefit Nebraska has is that Michigan St was in the Capital One bowl last year and on Jan 1, 2009. Bowls tend to believe fan bases aren't likely to go to the same destination two years in a row. They could fall to the Outback.

Penn St is projected to go to the Outback, but went last year. They do have a better conference record than Nebraska, so they could get the Capital One nod instead.

The key is having Wisky trounce Mich St (to take away some luster) and more importantly have Michigan get an At Large BCS.

It's between Nebraska/Penn St and what the respective committees decide in their private teleconferences.

I think we're all forgetting that public perception plays into this too. With the criminal investigations ongoing in Happy Valley that might be too risky for some bowls to touch. I hate to see the players at Penn State punished for something they had absolutely nothing to do with, but sometimes thats how life works.

They would not only be punishing the players, but an entire community. The community are the fans and they have kids too. They didn't condone what took place any more than a Nebraska community would. I would be devastated if something like this happened at an institution that I supported/trusted.
It would be a good step toward closure and hopefully bring attention that these disgusting pedophiles can be from all walks of life.

I cosign this post. Especially the part in bold. Still, I don't see what's wrong with venting. I'm not just gonna bottle it up and take it out on a front door (lol HH) Like i've said before I don't use a filter and I just say what I mean at the time. Doesn't mean that's my permanent opinion.

Saying Bo has one more year right after the loss was probably wrong but it felt right to say it at the time because I was so fucking frustrated.

The other thing to keep in mind is whether bowl committees shy away from Penn State because of the Sandusky thing.

Obviously the players, current coaches and fans aren't to blame, but it would still be mentioned in all of the coverage leading up to the game and/or during the game, and the sponsors wouldn't be happy about that.
