I like Belmont over Virginia

After my glorious call of Mercer over Duke last year I have once again looked at the variables and the metrics, this year the HUGE upset I like is the Bruins over the Cavaliers. Ill call it by 4.

FWIW had always said that Syracuse was likely to be the first 1 seed to drop to a 16, just because their 2-3 zone is particularly vulnerable to a hot shooting team (which 16 seeds often are) but UVA could be the one. Unlikely, but it isn't the craziest prediction I've seen.

I have to agree with you. Belmont can really shoot the ball, they have bad defense but Virgina doesn't really score much (225th in the nation) so if Belmont gets hot they can defiantly be an upset pick.

They have also lost 2 of 3 and only score 58 against FSU.

Belmonts 1 true weakness is the one area that UVA will have trouble capitalzing. UVA is more athletic though so that is one area of concern but teams that score the majority of their points from the outside are less affected by UVA's wall defense. Stopping dribble penetration is awesome but Belmont doesnt do much of that. Should be close.

He has been back and they have lost 2 of their last 3 with him. He really seems not to be back at form but they keep playing him extra minutes. Like I said I think he has hurt more than helped BUT maybe the extra few days will get him back on form.

Well not sure if I will on both of them I do but will for sure on one. It's only a 29 percent chance by my system but that's 15 percent more than any other 15 or 16 seed

He only played in the 2 ACC tourney games and it was sporadic.

They just have to decide. Is he good enough to play or not

Very true. UVA has a great defense. That said UVA averaged 61 ppg vs teams ranked similarly to Belmont defensively and UVA is playing worse offensively recently. If Belmont cracks 62 points I put their odds to win at 50 percent. Should be interesting
