and there's the kind of article that earned him the Gallagirl moniker
(no offense to women, many of whom have more balls that this puss-bag)

to summarize the article
--- waaah, lacrosse players fight, and are big meanies
--- waaah, junior players have exhibition games (really? you link Crosby's concussion to THAT??)
--- waaah, people celebrated two months ago and I just found out about it

in other news, it's deep into August, and there is nothing relevant to write about.

Big Fuckin Deal!! They just won the Stanley Cup! How can u criticize a professional sports team about their bar tab at that point?!? It's not like they have to go play another game the next nite, or for the next few months, for that matter.

Its their money and they can do what they want.

( I did state months ago that I think its pretty stupid and flashy of the players tweeting their bill and still feel that way, though in the case of the Bruins I am not even sure a player did it)

That is the first (and hopefully last) article I've read from Gallagher. What an assclown!!

Do they ever sit down to figure out the risk-reward balance sheet of playing lacrosse or playing any game at a level where there is going to be a temptation to start a brawl in which somebody could get seriously injured over an amateur title that nobody cares about?

Those lacrosse players take that risk because they love the competition. I think it's fairly obvious that Gallagher has never competed in his life.

And let's be clear, there is way more chance of being seriously injured in something like this where athletes' feet are firmly planted on a floor than there is in hockey fights

:pound:

This idiot clearly knows next to nothing about hockey. NHL hockey players are a hell of a lot more steady on their skates than most people are on their own two feet. Also, when they get knocked down (or out) they are falling on to rock hard ice. Moron.

Gallaghers a grumpy old man with alot of complaints ... i agree with some of what he says ... he has zero balance though

the boston bruins spending way too much for their post cup party ... meh ... who cares

he really took a stick to lacrosse and diminished it just because its "amateur". While its amazing to see guys who are anaesthesiologists by day try and kill each other during a lacrosse game it just goes to show that they have passion. Gallagher unfortunately thinks you can only have passion in sports where the average salary is approaching 2 mill per year.

he blitzed the cfl last year on the radio for being bush and almost got his head taken off by Glenn Suitor. Im surprised he didnt mention this morning that the Lions are 2 and 6 and in a playoff position

as far as his junior take ... hes not complaining about 1 junior exhibition game ... hes complaining about junior hockey ... Ill listen to this stance ... yes the chl has made amazing strides towards making sure that the players that dont turn pro get their educations but these franchises are cash cows ... and guys are still getting chewed up and spit out ... the chl is Canadas NCAA ... lotta people are making alot of money off these kids sweat and tears

Agreed. But if some Bruins players want to act like douches after winning sports' most difficult trophy, meh, it's not up to this crybaby to whinge about it.

i figure this could be the Gallagher "appreciation" thread

ridiculous column today

:L

:ss:

What is it with Vigneault that he insists upon putting Hodgson in positions whereby failure is the most likely outcome? Did he hear the kid cracking some kind of anti-Francophone joke or something? What's up with this guy, and why does GM Mike Gillis just stand by and watch his first ever draft pick get shafted?

Don Taylor on Connected last night was surprised that CoHo only got a little over 13 minutes of ice time, but I agree, just a little over the top by Tony.

while I would love to see Hazel Mae in many compromising positions, you may have just ruined that for me.
thanks, asshole. :caked:

this news will get your mind back on track

In Sportsnet***8217;s quest to hire everyone in the sports broadcast business, the network is welcoming back Hazel Mae. The Phillipine-born Mae was a bubbly anchor not especially known for depth in her first incarnation with Sportsnet. But gigs at NESN and lately the MLB Network have polished her considerably. Presumably she***8217;ll be added to the desk roster as Martin Gaillard takes maternity leave soon. Sportsnet declined comment on her re-acquisition.

Gallagher did have a more balanced (if possible) take on the radio pre-game show:

- that AV has not put Hodgson in positions to succeed.
- that the former CHL player of the year becoming a bust would be a massive blow to "player development" which Gillis convinced Acquilini to spend big money on
- that Hodgson was voted smartest player in the OHL by OHL coaches for a reason and he can adapt to situations if given playing time

threw it all away when he ended yesterdays pre-game saying Hodgson would be centre-ing a line between Blacksmith and Plumber
