I refuse to give a shit about what Dirk has to say. I listen to him blabber this morning on 1400am and I about drove off a bridge. I think the main reason we have turnovers is the ball that Martinez is using. If you remember in the capital one bowl against UGA they showed the difference in game balls from Murry & Martinez. Tmarts looks like a damn boot he is trying to throw out there. Murrys was a brand new pigskin.

Chuck that might be why Ameer has fumbleitus as well. :0)

So, what you're saying is, it's the balls fault and has nothing to do with being taught to protect the ball while running? Or that their are different game balls used for different QB's during a college game? Or the fact that Nebraska was the second worst in turnovers and the first worst in fumbles last year, by the numbers, but you refuse to believe it is an issue because some dude said it that you don't like?

They have been using those old balls with the white stripes worn off for several years. I assume its the QBs choice in which game balls they use according to their preference.

I don't know what the fumbling problem is due to but we've been one of the worst as far as fumbles over the past few years and that is not representative of a focused, disciplined football team.

Martinez does in fact prefer old worn out footballs and that's what is used when NU is on offense. I would assume that's also what they use in practice so it still boils down to discipline in protecting the football.

It's fundamentals that this coaching staff doesn't seem to emphasize much. Reminds me of Neuheisal sometimes.

I agree with that. But I also don't really see the tailbacks and Taylor cover the corners of the ball and carry it high and tight to protect the ball. But I feel the coaches should scrimmage say 20 plays during the season in practice once a week. I'm talking 1st team offense against 1st team defense.
