Impressive performance, but are High School games really only 5 innings?

That's impressive.

A pitcher on my team when I was 12 walked the first batter of the game, but didn't allow another baserunner the rest of the 7 inning game, and struck out all but one, who hit a weak popup to me at first.

I guess they're supposed to be seven, but teams are mercy ruled if losing by ten runs or more. So, not only did this kid strike out every batter he faced, his team put the stones to the opposing pitcher.

I saw a high school kid do this once...in the Little League World Series.

That was my first thought too. God damn I hope the "Mercy Rule" from little league hasn't found it's way up to HS baseball.
