How long until I release Billy Butler?

This guy been stinking up the joint and I have better options IMO as the backup 1B

Thinking about dropping him for more depth at pitching.

Man, that's still hard to believe. Im in an 8 team league and the best arms available are Ian Kennedy and Jeremy Guthrie. Way to work the wire though bks!

I just went back in looked, he didn't get drafted somehow. Why would I take Hudson and Burnett over Gallardo?




BTW Smitty, I did all I could I just didn't have enough for Rita.

I love me some Gallardo! Even with his awful first half last year. (Hoping my old man can get done this week what you couldn't last. She's getting too cocky.). But I like Hudson too. Maybe today's the day Butler gets an extra base hit!?!

However, with a 7 year sample size, and with Butler now in his age 27 season, I have no reason to think that this will be the year it ends for him.

I'm in agreement with BigD here. Butler may not be the ideal 1B since he's not a big time HR threat. But 2 weeks into the season isn't enough to conclude that a guy whose consistently in the .290's-.300's is done, or on the decline.

But those doubles have declined four straight seasons. That's hard to believe for a guy who will turn 28 on Friday.

I was just messing with him. He wasn't my primary 1B and I can live with Tex as my backup when he comes off the DL on Sunday which was why I released him.....It is never a bad thing to have pitching depth
