How are your leagues dealing with the extra week this season?

So, my main league voted in 2019 to move the championship game back to week 16 and realigned our divisions to get the math right. We went from 3 divisions with 4 teams each where you play your division opponents twice and every other team once, then do a 3 week playoffs. We now have 4 divisions with 3 teams each and kept the playoffs the same and it moved them back 1 week to end in week 16. We will be discussing moving back to 3 divisions of 4 teams each, which would push the 'ship game back to week 17 and leave the new week 18 idle with players sitting and whatnot. We have also considered scrapping divisions altogether and going to all play for the regular season, but I don't think that will have enough backing to get done.

I'm wondering how other leagues are going to adjust. My league will also be discussing what the next move will be, since I am figuring they will be adding an 18th game to the season in the next couple of years or so and probably a 2nd bye week, to push it to 20 weeks of regular season NFL action. That move could be tricky, which is one of the reasons we are considering the All Play record idea, since we can easily adjust the regular season and start the playoffs whenever since you play every team every week in this format.

In my other dynasty, i asked the other 11 owners. Gave them 2 options.
1) extend the regular fantasy season by 1 week or
2) have 2-week championship game (which is an option in our Sleeper league).

They unanimously chose 1 and no one even offered a 3rd option/suggestion.

We're a.simple group.

Well on cbs they went to 6 teams make the playoffs and 1/2 seeds get bye w/3 week playoff ( 12 teams) not using week 18

yahoo/fantrax have done the same
espn just went with 4 teams and 2 weeks each round starting week 15/16 and 17/18 so using week 18 :suds:

personally i would just extend the regular season 1 week and do what u normally do

another chip in the bucket for simply extending the regular season 1 more week, that's how it's going down in my dynasty and keeper leagues. I assume the same will happen in my redraft leagues.

side note - just got the autorenewal email from my old work league, I have a 3rd and 4th place finish in both years I've been in that one, and hope to sneak through and stay in the league even though I don't work there any more. Not sure they like me enough for that, but I guess I'll find out.

I'm just going to be adding one regular season week to all of mine. The math actually works better now when you have three divisions of four teams and six teams make the playoffs. In the years prior we played all of the division teams twice and then all but one other team once for the 13 week regular season. Now it works out perfectly that you get to play all of the division teams twice (3 x 2) and everybody else once (8 x 1) for the 14 week regular season and you have three weeks of playoffs with the Super Bowl being week 17. The true scheduling nightmare will be when they start adding more weeks.

This fucks the perfectly sized 14 team leagues that used to have one game against each team (weeks 1-13) and then a 6 team playoff (weeks 14-16)

Not sure what we'll do.
1. Maybe skip the last two weeks?
Some of these real teams will be sitting their stars then.
2. Week 1 revenge games in week 14, before a 3 week playoff?
I could see that.

2. Week 1 revenge games in week 14

I like that. Should be a few good matchups with some seeding implications, a solid 6-8 teams with impactful games in the final week makes revenge games even more fun

I kind of like a TBD week 14 schedule...

make every team that NEEDS to win face each other... Let them earn there spots... consider it a PLAY-IN week...

We are a four divisions of three league, divided into two conferences…. It WAS perfect as teams played each team in their division twice and everyone else once (13 games), six playoff teams (3 in each conference with top team getting bye)…

Moving to 3 four team divisions ends the conferences, so non-starter with the “traditionalists” in the league… Guessing we will just add a regular season game, but as far as determining who that 14th game is against might be an issue…. Could also scrap divisions and just have the 2 six team conferences? But still no perfect schedule that way either…

2 leagues that typically have the championship in week 16 have added a week to the regular season, which unfortunately unbalances the regular season matchups (both are 10 team leagues). Maybe we should've added a bye week in?

My 3rd league has the championship in week 17, so we just keep everything the same. Now the championship is less susceptible to rested players the last week of the season.
