Horrible Half

The first half of this AFC Championship has been absolutely horrible. Belcichick may have jinxed the team by taking the ball instead of deferring as he normally does.

I give Denver credit for a great game plan and making the plan work.

The Patriots offensive line has picked the worst time to not pick it up a notch, knowing that the Broncos defense will be coming full steam for Brady.

Patriots defense looked lethargic in the first quarter.

Second half is starting and the Patriots defense appears to be ready to play. Let's hope the offense gets it together.

I was ok with BBs calls today. Pats weren't scoring, Brady was getting killed, couldn't sustain long drives... hindsight is always 20/20.

Yes Cannon did suck. Too bad because Logan had a great day. I've been down on him forever, so figured I'd give him his due.

One other thing...............Gostkowski missing the extra point was the most critical bad play of the game. If he had made that PAT, then a PAT kick at the end of the game would have meant OT. The Patriots had finally figured out the defense in their last two drives of the game.

Going forward they still need a deep WR and more depth for the OL.

Wonder if Brady goes to Hawaii or South America instead of the pro bowl

One other thing...............Gostkowski missing the extra point was the most critical bad play of the game. If he had made that PAT, then a PAT kick at the end of the game would have meant OT. The Patriots had finally figured out the defense in their last two drives of the game.

I'm not sure I would say they figured out the defense at that point. The problem was the Broncos had lost both starting safeties at that point and so the back ups found themselves out of position. The Gronk long pass is a great example in the safety was supposed to have deep coverage on Gronk but took a bad step falling behind Gronk.

This. The missed extra point was a potential killer.
Even if they didn't win they at least went into overtime.
The Pats had held Denver to a FG in the whole second half.
OT might have been the difference.

Oh well, Pats will be back in the championship game again next year, hopefully healthier.

The Patriots and Broncos are two fairly well matched teams. Most of the games have been competitive with both teams having a chance to win. I won't get into injuries because every team has them at this point of the season. I'm glad to see Peyton going back to the SB. This may be his last chance at a ring and I hope he gets one. The Panthers are going to be a real handful.
