Yes I meant it as a compliment. Moses was a very good RT for us for almost a decade . I think we could have traded down with the browns and still get Connerly
Word! My bad for the shitty interpretation of what you meant.

I can't believe Washington fans are upset that they went OL. I was surprised, pretty convinced it would be edge or corner, and a bit disappointed at first. But after learning about him, how he shut out Abdul-Carter among other things, and realize protecting their most valuable asset is the smart move.

Last year the OL was a collection of B and C players who overachieved for the first half of the season. Now we are looking at an OL with 2 studs at tackle, Connerly may very well be better than Morgan Moses, and can move Coleman to the inside where he could be great. Once Cosmi returns this may be one of the best OLs in the league which is critical when playing in the NFC East. And even before Cosmi returns their depth is far better than last year when one injury crippled the unit.

Don't think dad meant that as a compliment. I've read one talking head opinion that Conerly was the worst pick in the draft thus far.

To this ^^^^ point. PFF had him graded as Oregon's best pass blocker last year with a 86.3 pass blocking grade. Had a 70,0 pass blocking grade or better in 11 of 14 games. Had a 72.5 run blocking grade and an overall grade of 78.3.

In-depth bio below dating back to his high school years and if its truly accurate. The 86.3 passing blocking grade seems a little low imo Allowed just 1 sack n 9 pressures as a Jr on 494 passing blocking opportunities while playing a total of 965 off snaps including 929 at left tackle.

As a soph he allowed 1 sack and 17 pressures on 511 pass blocking opportunities playing a team leading 901 offensive snaps

Posting this for the snaps by alignment info. Clearly this is a want to protect JD as much as possible pick n if it works out as such. Be it at LG, RG or RT. It won't matter how high or where he was picked in the draft. Josh Conerly Jr. NFL Draft profiles
It was a very solid pick by people who know what they are doing. Look around the division we play in. There resides the Super bowl Champions far and away better than the rest of the NFL. The Giants will improve. The Cowboys remain competitive. I like the plan of becoming a bully up front and protecting the asset. (JD5)

How can anyone be upset when we build the Oline and Dline?! You can never go wrong with building the trenches isn’t it where it starts? Yeah! That’s why teams like the Cowboys, Eagles, Steelers, Ravens are good just about every other year it’s because they draft OL and DL and fix the line of scrimmage

Look I am not a huge fan of the pick but judging a guy on one rep in an all star game is ridiculous .

I think there was better value then the next Morgan Moses
We can always fire Peters right?

He has clearly done a bad job since he has been here.

I don't get it either.

Like I said, the offseason brings out the worst in some people.

I hope he has a career like Moses. Athletic OT to protect the franchise. Nothing wrong with that.
If you want him to have a career like Moses does that include getting false start penalties? Wasn’t Morgan Moses the king of getting false start penalties when he was here

I'm just speaking for myself, I'm skeptical where he will actually play day 1. If he competes and is better suited at OG, thats not terrible BUT, you probably could have gotten a starting G at 61 too.
On the other hand, if the redskins brass is doing the do, they nailed it at 29 and i hope that is the case

It really seems the only knock any of these people have is they think we have more pressing needs. Nobody claims he wasn’t BPA (character included). He is also very young and has room to develop. This also gives us leverage when Tunsil cries in two years about wanting more money.
