Due to selective memory I don't recall Ohio State football from 1988 to 2001.
Jon 'the pooper scooper' Cooper I salute you...

Wow, words of wisdom from myself. I was pretty spot on here.Been around for a while:

My thoughts -- Hoke has never been a defensive coordinator. At Michigan, when he was here, it was pretty well understood that Hoke hired two, what he thought, great coordinators to run things. Mattison (defense) and Borges (offense). Borges in year 1 essentially ran Denard, which is why we won 11 games. The flaws were super apparent on offense after that. It got worse and worse and worse.
Defensively some of the stats got padded because teams would score so many points, start running the ball to run the clock out and they would simply just run out the game to win it. Defensively, Michigan lost in pretty much every major big game we played in. Teams like Michigan State, Ohio State and Notre Dame put up a lot of yards on the defense.
There's no evidence to suggest Hoke will do bad or poorly as a defensive coordinator but make no mistake, this is his first shot at it and he's had a pretty up and down history as head coach and while at Michigan had a pretty solid recruiter/coordinator in Greg Mattison (who was the only guy kept on staff and one of two guys from Hoke's staff that have been hired at power-5 programs since). I could see him doing OK, and I can also seem him failing miserably. The good thing he has going for him is that his defenses struggled terribly against the spread and the major power programs in the Pac 12 are more pro style teams.
Lastly, I wonder if he will wear a headset finally?

No I didn't. I was pretty clear that I thought it wasn't going to be a great hire. My conclusion pretty clearly states that it could go OK to terribly. There was no "he's going to do great" portion of that. Average to bad is a pretty good assessment of what has happened. You rode the whole fence that entire post. Don't act like you're fucking clairvoyant.
Ok to terribly suggests you saw a positive in him. He fucking did god awful. No I didn't. I was pretty clear that I thought it wasn't going to be a great hire. You also nailed your Baylor opinion by telling people they didn't know what they were talking just because Baylor was undefeated and ranked the top 10 early this season after playing a bunch of nobodies. Knocked that shit out of the park!Wow, words of wisdom from myself. I was pretty spot on here.
They're a 6-3 football team. We'll see how the season ends. Very well could be ranked in the top 25. Most weren't even considering that a possibility. You also nailed your Baylor opinion by telling people they didn't know what they were talking just because Baylor was undefeated and ranked the top 10 early this season after playing a bunch of nobodies.
