As long as it doesn't drive up the price of quality craft, it could be $20 a can for all I care...

I used to drink PBR in college. We drank it because it was $10 for 30 and we could get drunk cheap. Now it's the cool beer to drink, so now when we get together and want to get drunk for cheap we have to drink Hamms :(

Meh PBR and Coors are my beers of choice. They makes shots go down a lot smoother and are cheap, but not so cheap that they are insanely bad like Hamm's.

We meet again. Trust me one day that Hamm's beer will start tasting delicious when you and your friends only have $15 and want to go out and tailgate or hang out in the summer. I know I was there, except a few years ago we could get PBR for $9.99.

Luckily I haven't had to resort to that yet. I think a 30 case of pbr still only runs for around $15.99, so it isn't too bad.

Not sure we can totally blame this on the hipsters. The economy might have something to do with this. If someone has to cut in to their budget, why not save a few bucks on beer and go with the inexpensive domestic stuff.

I know for myself just this week I bought some Natty light in a bottle to save some cash. Laugh all you want, but having a family gets expensive at times and something has to give. I have to admit that the Natty light in a bottle wasn't to bad. Just a cheap pilsner.....honestly it tastes no worse than the Kirner Pils I used to drink when I was stationed in Germany.

I'm glad to see the domestics doing well even if Hipsters have a hand in it.

I'd take Natty Light over that tainted hipster-piss PBR anyday...shit's nasty.

If it's gonna be cheap beer, the less flavor the better.

I drink a lot of craft beer, but when buyin cheap for the household, 6 packs of Genesee tall boys for $3.99 cannot be beat.

This basically sums up the vicious circle of Hipsters obsession with something they think is original and then once they think it's been violated, "It's over".

Portlandia: This Bar Is Over

Considering how many fools are drinking PBR and the prices bars are charging for that swill, you would think PBR would be "over", but alas, most times, hipsters are the worst sheeple of them all.

While I agree that hispters are idiots, PBR is important to the accessibility of bars/clubs because it allows them to charge $4 or so for an Angry Orchard or IPA while still letting them charge $2 for something like PBR and $3 for something like Bud Lite. Hipsters might be driving up the price of that beer but it pads the profit margins so that other beers don't get too expensive.

My general experience is that hipsters aren't as picky about looks and trends as frat/sorority scenes, btw

Just for the record, PBR won gold at the GABF in 2012 for American Standard Lager.

Calling it "piss" is flatly ignorant.
