Does anyone remember Ryan Theriot ? Theriot was the glue to the 2012 Championship year keeping players loose and playing a supporting role at 2nd base for the Giants. Brandon Hicks is starting to remind me of Theriot with his steady play but added power numbers of the two. Theriot was a career .280 hitter but Hicks has pop down in the order.
It had to be sweet for Theriot to score the winning run in Game 4 of the 2012 WS. He did his job and even when Marco Scutaro came in and took over the job you could never tell that by looking at Theriot. A class ballplayer who was a team player. Somehow I get the same type of vibe from Hicks. By the way I miss that guy Theriot. He was a winner winning the WS in 2011 with St. Louis and 2012 with the Giants. I hope he is doing well .
