I was 8 when the Pilots left town.
This was, IMO, totally different than the Sonics leaving Town.

How many of you followed the Brewers for years?

Huge Difference

A. The region had no attachment to the Pilots.
B. The Pilots didn't go to the WS a couple years later.

I wasn't old enough for the Pilots but my friend's dad was a huge Brewers fan and I could never understand why cause it was only one year with basically noone the city ever knew unlike the cult following of minor league baseball Seattle and Tacoma had prior to the Pilots.
