Okay, trading Harvey for Verlander is an entirely different situation. Now you are talking about a kid, who I admit does seem to have a ton of potential, for a guy who has 1600 innings on his arm and threw 950 IPs between 09-12 (not counting post season). Add to that thye fact that Harvey will make about $1.6 million over the next three years and Verlander will make about $72 million - I'm not sure I would do that.
Exactly. All factored in to me emphasizing "starting a team today"
The Mets for instance, would make zero sense for them to even swap verlander and Harvey, considering where they are as an organization, doesn't mean they don't hope and pray that Harvey will one day be as good as Verlander
