The Mick may have used a corked bat in the waning days of his Hall of Fame career.
An auction house says they’ve gotten their hands on a doctored Mickey Mantle bat — and they’re selling it to the highest bidder starting at $5,000.

See the part in bold why I wrote "possibly".

5 grand? I'll take it

"the Yankess don't play in NYC, they play in the bronx, almost 15 miles of traffic from downtown manhattan"

An excuse never made...

If you're stupid enough to go to the Stadium by car, you deserve the $35 fee to park 8 blocks from the stadium that awaits you

A week ago, it was strength, honor and tradition that propelled the Lyle Overbays into superstardom.

Today? Injury excuses...

What an awesome turn of events...:laugh3:

About time a New Yorker corrected this dumbass. The last thing on the mind of the typical fan going to see the Yankees is traffic.

Speaking of Kimbrel, entering last nights game he had better numbers this year in his first 13 appearances then he did in his first 13 appearances last year, youd dispute this, but youd be very wrong.

If you're smart, living in the city of Tampa, the best way to get to The Trop is swim.

With one out in the fifth and the Indians leading, 3-1, Reynolds stepped in against right-hander Jarrod Parker. Reynolds impaled a 92-mph pitch, which screamed, "Dislodge The Cover!" to within a few footlongs of the top of the bleachers. The vapor trail ended a section-plus from where Adams does his work.
. . . Reynolds took several steps before beginning his trot. It is not in his DNA to show up a pitcher, but he was upset with Parker. In the first inning, not long after the Tribe's back-to-back homers, Parker drilled Reynolds in the shoulder. Plate umpire Angel Hernandez saw enough frustration in it that he warned both dugouts.
"I normally don't pimp anything," Reynolds said, "but he hit me near the head. I don't mind getting hit; it helps the on-base percentage. But when you come near the head. . . . I'm hoping it was just a fastball he tried to overthrow and it got away from him.
"I was on a mission right there, to hit a ball as far as I could, as kind of payback for hitting me almost in the head."
Reynolds talked more about the homer off Parker in a postgame interview with Greg Amsinger, Mike Lowell and Ken Rosenthal from MLB Network, and called the staredown "probably the coolest thing I've ever done in my career.
