ESPN's SEC Blog Heisman Watch...

SEC Heisman watch: Week 12 - SEC Blog - ESPN

Aaron Murray??!?!?!?!?!??!?

We have a new member in our SEC Heisman watch:

1. Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama: Richardson got back in the 100-yard club against Mississippi State by churning out 127 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries. It might take a couple of huge performances against Georgia Southern and Auburn in the last two weeks of the season to get Richardson right back at the top of national Heisman talk, but it's hard to not consider him the top running back in the country. He's averaging 121 yards per game and it takes more than just a couple of players to bring him down. If he wants to take home Alabama's second Heisman Trophy, he might need to make it to the SEC title game to show off on the national stage one last time.

2. Jarius Wright, WR, Arkansas: When in doubt, throw it to Wright. He's been (excuse the awful pun) right on the money this year. He grabbed 95 more yards and another touchdown in a blowout win over Tennessee Saturday and has been the SEC's top receiving weapon this year. He makes Tyler Wilson's job much easier out on the field and even in the middle of a crowded receiving corps, he shines. Wilson has so many targets to throw to, but Wright has been the most consistent.

3. Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia: Murray was the subject of some early-season criticism because of his low numbers, but he has certainly found his rhythm in the last few weeks. In his last three games, he's passed for 631 yards (and would have more if Georgia didn't shut down the passing game in the second half of the last two games) and 11 touchdowns to just one interception. Murray doesn't have an elite group of receivers to work with, but he's able to make those around him better and has truly found a nose for the end zone in the last few games. He leads the SEC with 27 touchdown passes.

4. Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas: Murray might have the touchdowns, but Wilson has the yards -- lots of them. Wilson is averaging a league-high 285 passing yards per game and has dipped below the 200-yard mark just once this season. He has also gone just one game without throwing for a touchdown, but still managed two rushing touchdowns in that contest. Wilson also has the toughness that any quarterback would want in this league. He's looked like a pinata at times with all the hits he's taken, but he gets right back up and throwing each time.

5. Michael Dyer, RB, Auburn: Dyer didn't have his best game against rival Georgia Saturday. He was basically a non-factor, rushing for just 48 yards on 13 carries. Auburn had to turn to its passing game as the game lingered because of the major hole the Tigers fell into right before half. With Auburn trying to throw, Dyer's job went from carrying the ball to helping to protect his quarterback. Still, Dyer has had a very solid second year for Auburn and is second in the SEC with 1,037 rushing yards and has nine touchdowns on the ground.

Probably.

I was suprised to see that Murray & Luck's numbers are actually compareable. Luck, of course passes more, and even has a high completion % (61% to 70%), but there TDs; INTs; and yards are similar.------and of course, Murray has done this in the SEC, not the Candyland Conference.

^Check out Luck & Murray's stats for Novemeber... other than yardage, it's not even close. Murray has a November QB rating of 245.1, he's having a great month.
