Why is the date of the quote even relevant? The point was that MJ received special treatment from the refs.

It's relevant because JD implied that this is something recent when it was 20 years ago and Magic was just joking with him.

JD conveniently leaves out that the photo session in question was from 20 years ago for the original Dream Team and that MJ himself cracked up when Magic said it.

I posted about that session a few times before.... stating it was from the 92 dream team photo shoot. Just because MJ cracked up, doesn't mean he wasn't tired of hearing about it. I'm sure he was because it was so blatant at times of the special treatment.

The quote I used was written by Jack McCallum...the author of "The Dream Team" and he made reference to that quote while watching.... "the greatest game nobody ever saw."

91 Finals / 5 games
Magic: 10 Fouls / 41 FTA
Jordan: 18 Fouls / 33 FTA

Doors showing he's got NO clue...
Why post stats from that Finals? Magic never implied he was referring to that Finals when he said that.

It was widely recognized around the league, well before those Finals, that MJ was getting special treatment throughout that current and previous seasons.

Just find it funny you bitching about others getting favorable calls.

C'mon, everybody who watched the NBA in the '90s knew that Jordan got special treatment from the refs. How is this even up for debate?

In the '90s, this thread would've been about how the Bulls were unbeatable because of the refs.

Last decade, it would've been about the Lakers being unbeatable because of the refs. The 2002 Sacramento Kings would probably agree. LOL.

The refs will probably always favor the brightest stars. It's hilarious when Bulls fans and Laker fans complain about calls, as their teams have benefited from favorable officiating for so many years. Share the wealth, guys!

This... ^^^^

VegasFraud desperately searched through nearly 50,000 minutes of MJ's NBA career for one shred of evidence that Jordan flopped, and the ONLY thing he could come up with is one -1- extremely questionable play... yet he acts like he just proved the earth is not flat.

Hahahahaha...

PS... listen to the announcers in that clip and they confirmed it was a good call by the refs and great defense by MJ. So as usual VegasFraud has nothing.

stop lying...you dared me to find any evidence of Jordan flopping..ever...I came back two minutes later with a youtube clip...your life as you know it quickly fell apart

MJ got special treatment. Just not in the Finals. Is that your position?

That clip if it is indeed a flop is the weakest ever. LBJ looks like he took acting lessons from Defoe...

Funny you would post a gif of someone flailing their arms in the air because that's exactly what Jordan did when he got ran over by a mack truck...also known as Isiah Thomas...lol @ if that's a flop...there is no question it's a flop...only a biased homer or an uneducated noob would even question that.

yep...but I'm used to it because who the fuck really wants to see ATL beat the Heat besides me?
Maybe if my team had a fanbase more people would care and there would be more uproar

Everyone that isn't a Heat fan or a LeBron lover, had ATL's back. You're good.

Because there's kids on here not old enough to have seen the transformation from "regular player MJ" to "Global marketing machine MJ."

Or they just flat out don't want to believe that he got special treatment.

Do people really believe MJ didn't get special treatment? Hell, they changed the rules for traveling to accommodate MJ's style of play.

Just imagine the highlight reels had Dr J gotten to play under those rules

And imagine how hard LBJ would have it without all of the rule changes that have happened since MJ's playing days...
