Under 10 yards last year.

Under 5 yards he was 91%..........5-10 yards he was 76%.

And then over 10 yards he was 10% and this was where all of his interceptions came into play.

Wonder if maybe we should try and keep his passes under 10 yards for the most part?? :noidea:

I think it's insane that when combining the two, between 1-10 yards he is the #1 passer in the nation.......

That blows my mind.

I really hope that Tim Beck knows that.

Pretty sure I've pointed that out a couple of times.
I'd never seen the actual data, it was just an observation. He's got good zip and accuracy short range in the middle of the field, but he can't throw the long ball for shit. His rcvrs have to slow down or even stop and wait for the ball to get there.

He doesn't throw well rolling left, doesn't execute a screen well, and makes some poor decisions when throwing the out pattern.

To sum it up, his throwing motion hampers him in situations where he needs to put touch on the ball.

At least he's got rcvrs now that can catch the throws he's able to make. We don't see the drops from a few years ago anymore.

I don't see that stat as being all that impressive. It limits the offense IMO.

Taylor is #1 in that stat because Beck knows those throws are what Taylor can execute.

Taylor doesn't see LB's......he just never has.

When he has a chance to throw underneath the 2nd level, he's great......especially with the fact that they have to respect his feet.

Gotta be able to have the threat of the long ball to keep defenses honest.

This is why I've been saying gimmicks oregon Clemson wvu like plays would help him.

Short passes screen dump offs spread gimmick shit would work bc he can make those passes. We have enough talent where we can do that and if defense wanna play tight we have speed to go over top.

Taylor has weakness which has been clear as day so the plan should be: throw short mix up runs take a peek down field if you get the matchup. Use the weapons on O it doesn't have to be tmagic anymore

Stop being ridiculous Pants, that would make our defense a good bit dishonest

That play action out of diamond Tim likes to run.... When it's set up right, someone is always wide open for a TD or a long gainer, Taylor just has to make the throw which he generally has.

Most lethal play we have if you look at it statistically.

THANK YOU

Over on the CBS board I said the diamond play is Nebraska best play and every time we run it we have a guy wide open in the flat or streaking down the middle

You can seriously run 50 plays out of that formation from runs fake sweeps a whole set of misdirection zone read and options.

And the Beauty is we don't run it enough for teams to game plan for it

DIAMOND !!!

That's the thing. Double edged sword. Run it all the time, not gonna be as lethal.

If our Offensive Line blocks the way they should it aint gonna matter what plays we run.

I have been watching some of last years games here recently and it's just the little things that held us back. I personally think we were still a little young.

We are going to flat out dominate this season on Offense. I guarantee it.

Execution and practice

You can easily run 50 plays of that formation and then there the fakes you could do.

Any offense can be lethal if you execute it right we maybe run the diamond 20 times a year maybe.

You can tell the other team what play you are going to run before every snap....

Aslong as every man does his job...... You can still get 4 yards a pop....

It's all execution......
