Doubt the Kings will be the highest bidder for him.
Kind of hope they get him. A scoring forward would be nice. I went to high school with his uncle. Had a few classes together, but were not friends or anything.

I doubt it as well. Just fun to daydream about scenarios.

He is exactly what we need to round out a top line. Make it happen.

lmfao. Who the fuck wrote this article? I swear it was just posted by a bot.

Byfield is largely considered to be a bust? Really? Also he's 19 not 20 years old. Not that it's a huge difference but the facts are just off on this article.

I wouldn't mind DeBrincat at all but I don't know if Byfield is the right trade piece that the Hawks would even want back. They already have a young big center in Dach. They need a goalie and D before another center.

Also DeBrincat won't be cheap to sign. He's going to want around 9m a year likely. Hawks aren't even dealing from a position of strength.
I'm rambling but this "rumor" doesn't make sense to me at all.

If the Kings are going to go after any RFA's this offseason I would rather they make a push for Laine instead. We have enough midgets on this team. DeBrincat won't help that height requirement limit.

I hope that they don’t give away the farm for him.

Now this at least makes sense from the Hawks perspective. Clarke makes much more sense to them than Byfield.
Finally before anyone gets too excited about DeBrincat putting up 40+ goals for the Kings remember that most likely Kane isn't come with him.

I don't really understand this move by Chicago. Debrincat is like 23 so they should just lock him up. I would rather LA pass on him to be honest. Too expensive in every way, from acquiring to retaining. Byfield is so young and he represents such a low point in this rebuild. He's the highest pick LA has had since Doughty and you don't just throw those into trades. Xis is right in that he's 19, so let him just develop and grow into his frame and his game. He had the injury to start the year so he didn't even play 1 year yet. Brandt Clark also the future so I'd have those two on the restricted list as far as trades go.

Good article (with some grammar issues) but still. Premise is solid and he makes good posts about acquiring Pierre-Luc Dubois. Dubois was in Columbus and was traded straight up for Patrick Laine, but apparently doesn't want to resign with Winnipeg, who also have their own cap issues.

He can score, but not elite skill. However, he's big, hits, scored 15 of his 28 goals on the PP, and works towards solving Kings size issues without probably breaking the bank. Can maybe get this guy and still add more size and skill in other deals.

Dubois is my kind of player, he can shut down anyone and get some points. Laine is good on 1 side of the ice non existent on the other.

Went for much less than I was expecting for sure. Having said that I'm still happier with the Fiala trade.

I read this somewhere after kings pick:

"Do the Kings have Jack Hughes, Alexis Lafreniere, or Kirill Kaprizov? No. But they do have a Jack Hughes, an Alex Lafferiere, and a Kirill Kirsanov"

Thats what the Kings get shopping at Wal mart
