Disclaimer: Eklund rumour, but he's saying a Canadian team may have sent one.

I saw that as well. I haven't heard which team is rumored to have offered it though.

Whatever happened with the Evander Kane offer sheet rumor?

Depending on the value of the offer sheet, why the hell would Edmonton do this? I know Benn is a solid player but any first round picks would be top 10 picks. Unless Benn learns how to play shutdown D, I just don't think it's worth it.

Twitter rumour monger says Canucks talking trade with Dallas for Jamie Benn. The price? A package based around Ballard & Raymond, of course.

On the plus side, a trade involving Raymond would do wonders for matty's liver...

If Ed Snider really wants to drive a hard bargain with the smaller market teams for the upcoming CBA , there is no better way than by an obscene offer sheet. Either he gets an elite talent, or the matching team suffers financially. It's a win win.

I'm surprised we don't hear more about owner vs. owner in the CBA talks - all we hear is owners vs. players. I find it hard to believe all the owners are on the same page with the way things have progressed this offseason.

better yet, i dont understand how the owners present a united enough front to bend (or at least try to) the players over every CBA negotiation.. i cant imagine ed snider agrees with many of them

The owners are all on the same page (i.e. gouge the players for as much as they can get) apparently oblivious to the fact that the disparity between large market and small market teams continues to increase. I just don't see how the league can continue with 30 teams without a serious tweaking to NHL economics (i.e. revenue sharing).

They are going to need a luxury tax threshold somewhere under the ceiling - and fast.

GMGM, please just sign Carlson and get it over with so some other team doesn't try to mess it up

Why not. Joe has shipped out all of the other fan favorites this offseason in order to put "his stamp" on the team.

If its only 1 I would trade a top 10 pick for Jamie Benn
