Disclaimer: Eklund rumour, but he's saying a Canadian team may have sent one.
Depending on the value of the offer sheet, why the hell would Edmonton do this? I know Benn is a solid player but any first round picks would be top 10 picks. Unless Benn learns how to play shutdown D, I just don't think it's worth it.
whats that??? .... offer sheet, you say????
oh Holmgren

Twitter rumour monger says Canucks talking trade with Dallas for Jamie Benn. The price? A package based around Ballard & Raymond, of course.
i've heard the flyers have room to do this offer sheet thing?

If Ed Snider really wants to drive a hard bargain with the smaller market teams for the upcoming CBA , there is no better way than by an obscene offer sheet. Either he gets an elite talent, or the matching team suffers financially. It's a win win.
I'm surprised we don't hear more about owner vs. owner in the CBA talks - all we hear is owners vs. players. I find it hard to believe all the owners are on the same page with the way things have progressed this offseason.

The owners are all on the same page (i.e. gouge the players for as much as they can get) apparently oblivious to the fact that the disparity between large market and small market teams continues to increase. I just don't see how the league can continue with 30 teams without a serious tweaking to NHL economics (i.e. revenue sharing).
