It's a bittersweet day for me as it was also my dad's birthday. When my sister and I were kids. Pops had us believing that all the ceremonies and gatherings on Veteran's Day were celebrating his birthday.

It is a double edged sword Sty. I think your job in the military was different and more tough than mine.

At the same time as a sailor I worked on weapon systems on F-14s. As a civilian I worked on FBM submarines and helped build a cable tester for DDG-51 class destroyers. They are like big toys. No war would be nice. Eventually it is going to be machines fighting machines.

Sorry @ that. Reminds me of my brother who has 4th of July as his birthday. Growing up in a small town they always threw a parade & in his early years he always thought it was for him.

i lost 10 brothers and a sister in a firefight in iraq / i miss them even today . i also committed a friendly fire on 2 british royal air force members during another lousey night as well . . that still haunts me
