Hope it was fun and safe. Mine was awkward, since Junior II's birthday is 12/31 (turned 3 - time is flying by) also we essentially have no plans for the next 10 years (he turned 3).

The local pizza place is owned by my buddy so we take all the kids there on their birthdays if it falls during the week and then their parties are the upcoming weekend (he's having an ice party today at 12:30). I moved my ex out here in October, got real tired of making the 50 mile round trip half the week for almost 10 years so she literally lives a mile from me now and it makes it easier with the older 3 at the same school not to mention the kids are in one of the best schools in CA now since we live in a nice area.

So the ex, her mom, my wife and her mom, the 4 kids and me all went to the pizza place, Mrs. Puck got shit housed and invited them over to our house to keep the party going. Needless to say I was like WTF, and those 4 broads did shots, wine and cocktails together while I essentially hung out with the 4 kids. I have a picture of all 4 of them doing Jaeger shots, this has never happened in the entire time I've dealt with both mothers.

Mrs. Puck ended up puking and blacking out, the ex and her mom left, my MIL left and essentially I babysat 5 kids including the wife. She was down for the count yesterday until 5 and still feeling it today a little bit.

Pucky? Didn't have a single drop of alcohol and felt like a million bucks yesterday but talk about bizarro.

It was weird dude. We all go to the various birthday parties, and the ex and Mrs. Puck talk/text but it's always about the kids - schedules, what's going on, grades, etc. This was the first time they have sat down and threw back shots, the entire time I'm thinking great, should be awesome to see which one is pissed off at me for something dumb after this whole ordeal.

Luckily nothing came of it but it was strange, let me tell you. Never would have guessed that in a million years. Don't think it'll happen again either though (hope not, anyway).

so my new year's was spent working. I'm hoping since New Year's falls on a weekend this time around, I can enjoy the Las Vegas Strip for the big day as opposed to sitting in a newsroom.

As for wisdom Puck, knowing what NOT to do can be it's own form of wisdom

I know a lot of people who ended up working on NY, sucks. I actually got on my confuser and got some work done as well, although I am not required to but wanted to get a jump on some pressing matters. I lost a ton of motivation the last month or two of 2015 and it caught up, always have to keep moving on until the job is done.

That's true, learning by mistakes is its own wisdom, I just wish myself (or anyone) wouldn't learn those hard lessons that way. Battle tested, scarred, whatever you want to call them, some of those life lessons were tough with results I'll live with forever.

I love my life, am fortunate and thankful but man o man some of those lessons were ass kickers. I could have done without them.
