So what does it mean when the groundhog dies?

The only real groundhog is Punxatawny Phil and he's in Pennsylvania. Any other groundhogs are just lying and scamming the system to get free government handouts.

We used to be overrun with these pests when I lived in Massachusetts. Eventually foxes and then coyotes moved in and that was the end of the groundhogs.
