When I was around 18 I worked in a darkroom where there was a St Pauli Girl poster hung up. Like I do with a lot of pictures in this thread I spent time just looking at her as she watched over me in the amber light of the safe light as I felt my adolescence pass me by and sensed trepidation about adulthood that was on its way whether I liked it or not. Sorry, I got wistful there for a second....

Anyhow, back to the poster. I remember never having heard of the beer, at least in my area it was another 10 years before microbrews and imports (besides Heineken) were common to see. So I would look up at her and in my naive young head I imagined she was a local girl from the mountains of Germany. I was actually a bit saddened when I quickly learned she was a American model who was in Playboy. Sigh...

This will be my drink of choice for the evening. Perhaps the best bang-for-your-buck scotch I've had so far. I think the bottle was under $30, but it's darned good stuff.
