Habs Back At It Friday Night...

Montreal and Pittsburgh will play Friday night in Pittsburgh...not much of a rest for the Habs after a series like that....I was worried that they might delay the start of this series until Sunday...which was a rumor I heard...

I think the 1 day off and back to the tournament is the fair way to do it...

I think in a way, it's a break for the Habs. One day off, and back at it helps keep Halak in his groove right now. A longer break would definitely hurt that, I think.

Red Wings are in the same boat. Finished the Yotes yesterday, open with the Sharks tomorrow.

I like it that way. If you take fewer games to beat your opponent, you should get rewarded with more rest. Waiting any longer would reduce the positive impact.

Tell ya what...Halak is 13-2 in games where he's faced 40 or more shots. Now THAT is impressive. I think the Pens got their hands full. If Halak and his D play like they did vs. the Caps and Fleury doesn't wake up in time...the Pens might end up golfing sooner than later.

Those 2 play Friday yet the Nucks and Hawks play friday despite the fact the Hawks finished their series on monday and the Nucks haven't played sine sunday.

yep, you reward the team who eliminates their opponent faster than the next one. It may not always work out in your favor, as the example of the hot goalie illustrates. But, if you've got a hockey club with lots of nagging injuries, and plenty of wear and tear over the past three seasons (pens), then six days off might just be what the doctor ordered.

Kind of sucks for the Habs but you can't expect the Pens to wait an extra 2 days to start the series because the Habs went to 7 games. Saturday start would be perfect but the Mellon Arena is being used for the Point Park University graduation.
