I'm not ready to sit here and make a substantial list, but I was just thinking about some guys the Sabres should seriously look into come next week Thursday.
How about Matt Cullen, who had 16 goals and 48 points last season for CAR/OTT.
He would be a great help down the middle for Buffalo, and can actually win faceoffs! He's a good two-way guy and would finally bump Paul Gaustad down to where he belongs-- the fourth line!!!
He would come for cheap as well, exactly what Buffalo will be this offseason. I'm thinking a two year deal worth around $4 mil.
And if they continue to go down the cheap road -- which for now I'm just going to accept until otherwise proven wrong -- why not sign a guy like Marc-Andre Bergeron.
He has a great shot, can man the point on the PP, and again, will come on the cheap. The guy wasn't signed last season until Markov got his ankle chopped off in the first game of the season. I'm pretty sure he signed for only $750,000. I'll take it!
