HA!!!!

I don't think he takes it. UNC is ging to be a tough sell right now at least until the season is over and people know what they are dealing with. BTW, if you get a chance ruyn to disney and back me up. I am doing some recruiting and have a Clemson guy on the line. I need a closer.

He'll take it if it's really on the table, if he has any sense. The Malzahn myth was deconstructed this year when Cam left for the NFL. It's amazing that he's getting an offer of this magnitude, if you ask me, since he's become last year's news. UNC is a heck of a job for a head coach. They have a decent recruiting base, and expectations aren't as high as they are for the Bball team, not a common vibe in the SEC.

...along with one of the most massive lists of allegations against them the world has ever seen....

It was a dream job until Butch shit the bed.

Eh, I already messaged him. He brings some good points some time, but can get defensive rather quick. Who knows, maybe we'll rub off on him over here.

And the UNC job will be shit for at least 5 years after scholarship losses; it may be a decade before they're even close to competing for anything resembling 8-4 consistently.

This could be a great gig for these very reasons. If he wants to build the program from the ground up and be known as the man to bring the heels back from the dead, this would be great. I'm sure there would not be a lot of pressure to compete at a high level immediately and that could give him plenty of time to get his guys in there.

Couldn't agree more. He should have taken a job last year, now, he's nothing without Cam. His offense is one of the worst in the SEC and in the country as a whole: ranking #97 total offense #84 Scoring offense #107 passing offense. However, going to one of the weakest conferences in the country might not be that bad for Malzahn.

Gus Malzahn offenses - total offense rankings
2006 - Arkansas - 17th
2007 - Tulsa - 1st
2008 - Tulsa - 1st
2009 - Auburn - 16th
2010 - Auburn - 7th
2011 - Auburn - 97th

One bad year with an offense full of Freshman and Sophomores........he'll be back on top maybe as soon as next year if he stays
