Something really weird with Malzahn to ASU. He makes 1.3 million as Auburn OC. Will be making 750k at one of the worst jobs in NCAA. Turned down Vandy, Maryland, and Tulsa last year. Supposedly was holding out for the perfect opportunity.

Internet rumor is that Chiz told him to get the fuck out. The highest paid assistant in college doesn't leave for a shitty sun belt job on his own. I don't care if it's in his home state. His career was just set about 4 years back.

They reached out to him not really expecting him to accept but apparently he wanted this job pretty badly.

Don't know how anyone can buy that

He's taking a major pay cut, to work in one of the worst coaching gigs on earth. Something else is going on

It's not a bad spot right now actually

They are currently in the process of a 10 win season with the majority of the starters from that team returning next year, there's lots of talent there right now.

He is from Arkansas after all.

I know he is, but I still don't buy it. You don't leave a cushy OC gig paying you 1.5 million to go to Arkansas State and take a pay cut willingly without something else going on behind the scenes.

And seriously, do you think his bat-shit crazy wife is happy about this???

Well, if he likes Arkansas and wanted to be HC...*I* wouldn't do it but I know plenty of people that take pay cuts to move to some middle of nowhere place because that's the life they enjoy...

nah, I just don't buy it. Their DC jumped ship, and we're talking about one of the hottest HC candidates out there for the last year. He turned down 3 mill to go to Vandy, UNC, and Maryland - and now he's taking a 750K job at Arky State?

The rats are jumping off the ship.......something is going down at Auburn we don't know about yet.

Maybe but Roof was going anyway. Our D wasn't good last year and was worse this year...probably seeing a pattern when there isn't one...

DC and OC leave... both leave for less money... that does sound fishy. Also saw some tweets that eluding to someting about Cam Newton finally coming out.

Recruits may be about to jump ship as well, like Ricky Parks and Jaquay Williams.

don't know man......there's been a lot of smoke around that program, and I have NO DOUBTS Chizik is as dirty as they come. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Wishful thinking? Dude I'm a Texas fan, I don't give a rat's ass about Auburn. I"m just calling a spade a spade.

I know the defense wasn't great, but the offense was just as bad. I don't understand why the Malzhan wasn't thrown under the bus like Roof.

Either way, you are right. Roof was going to be axed.

Something weird is up at Auburn. I think Malzahn took that pay cut, so in a year or two when Chizik gets axed, Auburn will come running to him to take the head coaching job. People are saying that Dyer likely won't be back next year, that he did something a little worse than just testing positive for weed, and I wouldn't be shocked to see TJ Yeldon switch to Bama soon.

It's a God thang.
