When Kenny Bell said at a press conference a couple months ago, "We only get a $900 stipend per month".........I about shit myself.

ONLY $900?!!!!! Plus all the free food, clothes, tuition?!!!!! Plus you get to play football for Nebraska?!!!!!

That is the mother fucking life, my friend! You're just a turd running around in a uniform while you're in College.....enjoy all the perks you get.

Basically, let me just put it like this....

I would not stand outside and hold up any signs for changing the rule......and if the rule was changed, I wouldn't stand outside and hold up any signs to have it changed back.

Rules are rules, laws are laws.......I am not going to waste any of my energy towards the drama that goes into yelling about having them changed. Just deal with what life affords you. Life is fair the way it is.

A reddit poster mentioned this a few weeks ago. He knew a bunch of college players selling their signatures and that one of them was 100% a Heisman candidate.

So you guys don't think you should be able to profit off of your likeness or signature?

I think they should change the statutes, but players should play by the rules as they are currently.

I don't really care how people make their living, I just don't want to hear people like Kenny Bell bitch about not having an opportunity. Oh poor Kenny bell "had" to go get a bar tending Job just to eat, make ends meat. Are you fucking kidding me ?!? Give me a gawd damn break.

You know what it is called working 40+ and going to school full time plus taking care of a kid or two, maybe you have a partner to help you with aforementioned bullshit? Its called life Kenny Bell and you have a pretty easy one.

I worked 40 hrs a week and went to night school 4 nights a week for 4 years.

It kind of sucked seeing my buddies drankin' it up on the beach while I was on my way to school after work.

You deal with the hands you get dealt. Plain and simple. Life isn't about bitching and moaning until it's fair.

Especially when you sign up for it. If you don't want to play football for a free $100,000 degree, free unlimited food, free clothes, all the dick suckens you can handle, and a monthly stipend of $900......then don't.

But when you sign up for that, agreeing to accept that........don't bitch about it. Just don't.

That's not what this is about. I think they should be able to do whatever they want to make money. But right now the rules say they can't. They agree to the schollie to get an education and as JJM pointed out an NFL career if they got what it takes. Part of the agreement is they won't profit.

IMO and only my opinion it appears these days the right thing to do is to abide by your word.

Yeah it sucks what these kids live on sometimes but that is another argument. He took money for memorbilia he signed after agreeing not to. He said fuck his coaches, fuck his team he deserved to have some of the cheese.

Fuck him.

If someone is dumb enough to knowingly break the rules then they pay the consequences. That's just real life. Maybe he'll learn something. :noidea:

See I don't understand why this becomes the argument every time something like this comes up. Regardless of whether college football players should get paid or not, it is currently against the rules to get paid. It's stupid to say "Well, they should be allowed to do that" in my opinion. As of right now, it's against the rules.

if the ncaa would follow their own rules or not waver punishment depending on which school then people wouldn't feel that way.

cam newton gets off but tressell osu and Pryor get destroyed
manziel going wild
ncaa lying to psu and nearly hitting them with the death penalty
how they handled usc
countless more examples in the last decade

not defending Gurley but the ncaa is crooked and picks and chooses who they want to screw over.

in the end Gurley will be pro making money and the ncaa will be doing what the ncaa does best making money

I understand what you're saying but when Gurley took money for his autograph 1) he had been instructed that was illegal and had agreed not to do it when he accepted the scholarship and 2) he knew what he was risking, that including letting down his coaches, his team and his school.

That has nothing to do with the NCAA and whether they rule fairly or not and has everything to do with his character. From my understanding he got $500. For $500 he shit on all of those and sold hgis name and his word.

Yeah he's just a kid and hopefully has a shitty taste in his mouth now from it. Hopefully he will learn from that but right now he simply does not have character. His word is worthless and his loyalty is crap.

What the NCAA does or does not do has nothing to do with that.

Yep, what was most important to him was simply himself.

Didn't give a shit about his team, and I really bet his teammates aren't defending him right now.

'Scuse me but....what exactly is sketchy about it?

Gee idk the fact that there is a video of a left handed black dude with dreads who is signing shit in a car yet the dumbass who accused Gurley wasn't smart enough to take a vid of him actually receiving $ and the fact that the guy being a fla grad

Ummm...do they EVER have a video of them actually taking money?

Just cause the guy was "to dumb" to record him taking money doesn't make this sketchy. When has there ever been a high quality, well shot video of athletes breaking the rules

Idk what you expect man, JJ Abrams isn't gonna come in and direct Star Wars episode 7: gurley signing shit.

So Is Gurley right handed?

That the dude that turned him in did so maliciously isn't in doubt.
