Are you expecting the Giants to overtake them in the division?
Yes, that's how that would work, brainiac. ;)
Yeah, I called that a couple of weeks ago. I see them surging and the Pirates dumping.

That would be one epic dump by the Bucs. Of course, the Giants are in Pit this weekend, so if they sweep, that could be the start.

Pittsburgh, unless they have a plane crash, is a lock.
Chicago also looks pretty skrong, except I don't know how many games they have left vs the Cards n Bucs.

AL: who cares?

Disagree...

Wins:
Pirates: 69
Dodgers: 67
Giants: 64

Doesn't take much to flip those numbers, I think, especially since my Cubbos can smack the Buccos around for 6 games between now and then, and, like you pointed out, the Giants get to beat 'em up, too... and they have to play the Cards 6 times.

Not overthinking it- I just think those are the top WC teams right now, and I think it'll likely stay that way unless a division leader just implodes.

Ok. Y'all think Pittsburgh is a lock. They are definitely in the lead, of course, but only 5 up on the 2nd wildcard team.

They play the Giants 4 times, the Cubs 6, the Cards 6, and the Dodgers 3.

That's a big potential for a drop, and, IMO, definitely not a "lock."

I guess we will all see.

*Halos have a pretty easy schedule compared to the other hopefuls in the AL.

Yeah, I just looked at the head to head, and Pitt is only 5-7 vs the Cubs, 21-29 vs the division,so they could trade places. I'm just not convinced that the Giants will pass one of them.

In the Cubs last 46 games they play the Cardinals and Pirates 12 times ( 6 at home and 6 on the road )... Of their last 46 games the Cubs have 27 vs teams that currently have losing records and 19 against teams with winning records.

In terms of home-road splits, the Dodgers actually have the hardest schedule of the rest of the contenders. Cubs seem more like a pace car because home field doesn't matter to them. I actually think the Dodgers are going to be the ones left out so Im changing mine to

NL
1. Pirates
2. 3rd place Cubs

AL
1. Yankees
2. Trouts
