I like what I saw of him, but I also don't think he is much different from what the Kings have pushed the last decade - grit, character, net front presence, etc. I see a Swedish Dustin Brown essentially.
Not saying these types of guys aren't needed - they are, and they are generally glue guys - but injecting a little more skill and a little less grit is necessary to adapt to the game today.
Seems like a heady two way player however, it was a nice goal to get for his first one.
I wish, it would make up for the painful offensive output we have endured for the better half of a decade, watching guys like Muzzin put slap shots right into shins, Lewis shoot a puck over a wide open net, Kopitar and Brown get a 2-on-0 and somehow don't even get a shot on net. etc. (didn't Kovalchuk completed miss a wide open one timer last night to the right of Miller? That sort of stuff).
I actually wouldn't be surprised to see him here the rest of the way to get a solid look at him. The Kings requested him in the trade because he is an NHL-ready prospect, he is being groomed to be on the opening night roster.
