If the Patriots got that then the Redskins will get a better pick then that for TW

This means Tampa is moving O.J. Howard. If the price for Gronk was a 4th round pick, perhaps Washington can get him for a similar price, or less. (I already know that they are going to ask for much more)
Your rational is irrational to me. Gronk with the year off is probably the healthiest he's been in years. A healthy Gronk is the best TE in football (now and of all time imo) How does that equate exactly to the Skins getting a better pick for TW in a trade?
For all we know, Howard's going to be a perennial Pro Bowler long after Gronk retires.

Perhaps, he certainly passes the eye test in that regard, and if the Skins do decide to trade for him. Lets hope they base his value on what he's actually in the NFL. As opposed to what we hope he does if the Skins do indeed trade for him.
If so that would make the rational more rational.
OT is a far more valuable position than TE; therefore, the compensation for a great player with a one year hiatus from the game would dictate the OT yield a higher pick than the TE.
Wait a minute...TW's has been to 7 Pro Bowls and likely has a few more left in him. Just because Gronk was in on a magnitude of SB's with Brady, doesn't make him anymore "one of the greatest" as it does Trent. Right now TW's is likely a top 3 OT in this league without having played a year. Likely one of the best if not the best OT the past 5 years he played in WASH. I get that he is 31 yrs old now but we all know Trent is one of the great ones.True, but to every rule there's an exception. So whileTW's position is valued more than Gronk's position and he's likely still a good, maybe even great at times OT. I don't see him ever being compared to the greatest OTs to play the game. With Gronk it isn't whether he compares to the greatest TEs to play the game. It's just a matter of where do you rank him among the greatest to play the game.

And Casper, Christenson, Winslow, Ditka, Newsome, Mackey & Shannon Sharpe.Don't know how many of you saw John Mackey play but he would have to be in any TE list too.
it was parkinsonI thought I read somewhere that Hopkins did not drop a ball last year.
