Robert Griffin III had the hard cast taken off his left ankle. "Aside from that, no updates."

Brian Mc Nally

Robert Griffin III had the hard cast taken off his dislocated left ankle. He was still in a walking boot though. Says no further updates

they should just be careful with him . dont play him until he can cut and throw the ball the way he can

no more last season's BS

now we all know Rg3 will push it and force the coach to make the choice , which he should , however gruden needs to grow the pair shanny didnt

The question becomes, even if gruden has a pair to rival godzilla, do the higher ups back the coach or blindside him?? If nothing else the Gm in Allen is going to want to see RG3 on the field if he can go because at some point you are going to have to consider trading one of the QBs or risk getting nothing back off of the 5 draft picks we have used on the position. Scratch that, we will hopefully come out of this with at the least a long term answer at the Qb position. But one would hope we can at the least get a conditional undrafted free agent back.

My position is if KC is playing well (and so far he is ) then he should keep the job . the reason is simple Rg3 put his job in jeopardy by not being available .

its no different then malcom kelley , phillip thomas and even jordan reed

you have to be on the field

so next year in camp Rg3 would have to take the job from KC as long as he plays the way he has been

Oh I totally agree that performance should determine playing time. I just am not sold that the front office wont push for an RG3 return if he is deemed "healthy".

KC's job right now is to make it impossible for anybody to want RG3 back.

totally agree. But remember that there are egos involved here. Snyders and Allens not to put too fine a point on it. Kirk turns out to be a franchise QB and speculation is ever confirmed that Shanahan actually wanted Kirk more in the first place, not too sure that sits too well with Danny. to fend off any possible Rg3 return, Kirk is going to have to play lights out from now until the buy and the team is going to have to be winning.

His job is to help win football games - period. If he does that he will be set for a long time whether it is with the Redskins or some other team. Again - I could care less who is the QB of this team as long as they are winning and/or moving the team in the right direction.

Pretty sure that means exactly what I was saying.

Perhaps but IMO not quite. As both fans, players & coaches the only thing that matters is each game & getting a "W". Everything else should not be a consideration at this time.

As for Cousins - I will not necessarily be happy if he has more performances like the Eagles game. He looked good & had great numbers but the end result was a "L" (understand that it was not his fault). In the end I am just looking for a winning team & don't really care about the names on the back of the jerseys. I don't care if Cousins puts up very good numbers if they are accompanied by primarily losses. IMO - that will make the QB decision a lose-lose situation.

#Redskins Robert Griffin III is taking a different (much quieter) approach to this recovery: Redskins call audible on RG3's approach to rehab | Comcast SportsNet Washington
#RedskinsTalk

Excerpt

“He’s doing a great job, and like I said, for whatever injury he has, he’s probably going to recover quicker than the normal human being, faster than anybody probably,” he said. “So it won’t surprise me when he comes back. I’m sure it’ll be quicker than normal. But he’s doing everything he can to get right. What the timetable is, I have no idea. Only his body will know, and the trainers.”

Later Tuesday, Griffin made an appearance along with several of his teammates at an NFL Play60 event in Fort Belvoir. Griffin sported a hard plastic boot on his left ankle but walked without the assistance of crutches.

Just before the event was scheduled to begin, reporters and cameras gathered around Griffin to get his thoughts on the event and, of course, a long overdue progress report on his ankle.

Griffin gave an eloquent answer on the importance of giving back to the community and the special place the military holds in his heart because, well, he was a military brat himself. But before anyone could ask about his recovery, Griffin turned from the cameras and was promptly whisked away by the team’s public relations boss, who said he wanted the story to be about the kids and the event, not Griffin’s ankle.

And that was that.
