Gretzky Award?

Just something to think about.

Why have an award for the total points for a player(Art Ross),and one for total/most goals(Maurice Richard),and yet there is no trophy for having the most assists?

IMO it is time for the NHL to honour Wayne Gretzky,and name the total assists award in his name.
When Gretzky has more assists(1963) then the 2nd place guy-Messier-has in total points(1887),I think he is more than deserving of having this award given out in his name.

I say yes.

Most hockey posters on the Hoop know more about hockey in general,than these so- called "experts" I read in the paper or see on tv.Most of them don't know anything about teams or players in the other conferences that they don't cover.

What, an award for skating around the blue line waiting for your defense to get you the puck?

The Gretzky Award-given to the player who once the season starts sees his goal tender less than any other player. Sounds right.

I was listening to Team 1040 earlier today and I heard a commercial for Wayne Gretzky Okanagan Wines with the tagline "Great wines from the Great One".

/I almost had a wreck due to losing control because I was laughing so hard.
