This team never got started. A bunch of underachieving bums all year. The only guys that cared were Dalton and AJ and now AJ is gone.

On the bright side, he won't get hurt in the pro bowl

So, which cornerback will we be taking in the top 10 picks?

I'm thinking a kicker in the 2nd.

Nugent is an absolute douche canoe.

whoever it is, I'm sure he'll chip in on special teams in 2 or 3 years.

Well, this year's first rounder will be our primary 'gunner' next season..... Because he missed a year, he won't be able to play defense until at least year 3 of his contract. He'll struggle as a starter in year 4, making it somewhat controversial as to why we picked up his 5th year option. He'll likely be fantastic in year 5 and then a FA.

I saw an early mock that give us Jabril Peppers from UM...... Our staff would never figure out how to use that guy.

I might totally lose my shit of that's the case. he's good, but not top 10 pick good. ESPN pimps the shit out of him unnecessarily.

I'm mixed on him. On a team with a creative defensive coordinator, he could be a major weapon. He would be amazing in the slot in nickel packages either on the blitz or covering the slot/tight end. But again, you would need to have some creativity to make him worth a top 10 pick. Marvin and the boys would probably only use him on ST before making him into an undersized linebacker that basically plays Danby's position.

Peppers seems like a tweener to me. That brings about the obvious comparisons to Tyrann Mathieu, but Mathieu is a ball hawk. He also went in the 3rd Rd (I know there were off the field issues but still). I like Peppers in the late teens but not with a top ten pick.

I'm not a draft expert like the rest of the former posters on this board, but I can see arguments both ways for the guy. He's definitely a tweener - I'm uneasy about a guy that doesn't have a defined position. My thinking is that a good coaching staff (with some creativity) could really maximize his potential. He could be a Troy P. sort of roving safety. But there's also a high probability of a tweener being a bust. If he came here, it's pretty easy to see what would happen.

my prediction is that we will draft 3 'hybrid' players who kinda fit in between rolls

whatever 3 year plan we can devise on a player with a 4 year contract.
