GOOD! Great step. They are finally getting that transparency is the way to go. People forgive if they understand why.

I knew when the league hired Shanahan that good things were going to happen. Shanny was a selfless team player when he skated in the league, he put the game ahead of himself during the lockout, and now he's in a position to do some real good. I'm sure I won't agree with all of his decisions, but at least knowing that he put some thought into it and seeing some consistency will be nice.

I don't like the transparency. The NHL dean of discipline = the Wizard of Oz - he only works well behind the curtain. Take the curtain away and the aura and mystique of the position goes with it.
