Ok, Seattle has started 2-0, and fans are even more excited about this season after a massive beatdown of division rival San Francisco. So, here's what an early season record means.
2-0. 71% of Super Bowl participants started the season 2-0, with 64% of winners having the early season record.
1-1. 20% of participants started 1-1, with 26% of the winners.
1-0-1. 5 participants (2 winners) started with a win and a tie.
0-2. 3 winners started 0-2, all of which since 1993. 1 more team lost the Super Bowl, 1996 New England.
So, in the last 20 seasons, 15% of winners were 0-2, much higher than the 6% all time. Even with that increase, 60% of winners were 2-0. I'd rather be 2-0.
