Folks, we had a much better season than a lot of us expected. It has been fun. I think we have a GM we all like. I think we have a QB we can build with. There are some good pieces.

I am not much of a personnel guy so I will leave that up to you to help SM find the right guys. I think we will all be looking forward to next year.

I may have argued with some but we are all Skins fans and I come here because of that. :suds:

Yup. Disappointed in today's outcome, but for the first time in a long while, I see a bright future. Now we just need to keep Snyder out of the decision making process and we might actually be able to build a sustaining franchise.

Not just a GM, but people like Bill Callahan and Matt Cavanaugh too.

Agree about the season. I don't believe that most of us would have expected it to end with the Redskins having an overall winning record.

Yesterday's game provided good insight into what is needed over the offseason. They need to primarily focus on rebuilding the running game and stopping the run on defense. They also need to shore up the pass rush.

A believe that a lot of this is very doable. The running game should be improved by the growth of Jones, the continued development of the O line & the acquisition of another quality RB (possibly mid round pick). The defense will benefit from growth of young players (DBs, LBs, etc), addition of injured players and the acquisition of some quality pickups via the draft and free agency.

Should be fun to watch this unfold.

It has been reported that we are going to have a lot of money in FA even after the KC contract.

Exactly. There have been a few times, I have received some negative response. But hey we are all SKINS fans and no one wants the Skins the win so bad than most of here.

It is a very, very odd feeling indeed for me this morning with regards to the redskins season ending as unceremoniously and ignominiously as it did: hope.

For the first time in a very long time, it seems as though the redskins are going to do the RIGHT things this offseason, and actually have a plan that they are actually going to implement correctly, this offseason, to get better.

That's very, very odd.

It's been a heckuva ride, four months long, especially considering where the redskins started from. Some samples, for your reading pleasure. Seriously, some of these made me laugh out loud.

from cbssports.com:

Jared Dubin -- Washington, Lions: Washington is a disaster on and off the field. Kirk Cousins is not good at football. That's just a bad team.

"last team to get a win:"

John Breech -- Rams or Redskins: These two teams play in Week 2 and I feel like there's a good chance the loser will be winless until at least Week 7. Also, based on how the Redskins offseason went, let's not pretend like 0-16 is out of the question.

Will Brinson -- Redskins: They'll probably prove me wrong in Week 1 against Miami but there's nothing easy on the schedule until they play at the Falcons in Week 5 and at the Jets in Week 6.

Jared Dubin -- Redskins: If they lose to the Giants in Week 3, I can't see them getting a win until the Week 6-7 stretch where they play the Jets and Bucs.

Sean Wagner-McGough -- Redskins: Washington is a mess. Even before all of the RG3 drama, this team wasn't even good to begin with. I don't see one clear win on their schedule. I'm not saying they're going 0-16, but I am saying they'll be bad.

Ryan Wilson -- Redskins: No quarterback to speak of; a coach on the hot seat and he probably has no idea; a general manager brought in to fix it all only to have, uh, stuff happen (distractions!); and, of course, an owner who has presided over it all since taking over the team in 1999. So, yeah, the chips are stacked against the Redskins before they take a snap in 2015. Which brings us to the schedule: They face the Dolphins, Rams, Giants, Eagles and Falcons to start the season. The Week 5 matchup against Atlanta might be Washington's best chance to get a win, and if it doesn't happen, there will be opportunities against the Jets (Week 6) and the Bucs (Week 7). Go winless during that three-game span and we could be having the "Is this an 0-16 outfit?" conversation. We know, it sounds like hyperbole -- until you remember who we're talking about.

Pretty much the only "drama" I can see for the offseason is the signing of Cousins. Even though that might not be as easy as we would like it to be, does anybody REALLY think that GMSM is not going to take care of it professionally?!?!?

Things are looking up for the redskins. Good times.

Now on to the Caps....

Great post Chillerdab. No well in hell Cousins doesn't re-sign with the Redskins. If they let him go they will have a riot on their hands.

As for the Caps - if this isn't their year then I don't know when they will ever win the cup. They are certainly the team to beat at this pt.

It has been a pleasant surprising season and very much appreciated. Gruden did a heck of a job with some guys who were not even on the team at the beginning of the season. We were exposed in areas yesterday with regards to defense and I'm sure we will upgrade at such positions as LB, CB & FS. Maybe even a younger stud up front as Hatcher is getting too old and his body is letting him down. Offensively, add a piece or two and were good. SM really made a huge difference this year as did Callaghan & Musgrave. I sure would like to see someone else take over play calling duties. There are and will be things to always improve upon football and organizational wise to make this team better moving forward. I'm confident we have the right people on place to make this happen.

HTTR!!!

I saw and correctly so that some of our stars to not play up to expectations. Usually that is followed by ... they make $XXXXX dollars. We forget that sometimes these guys are playing hurt. Trent almost never misses a game and the same can be said for Kerrigan. I know Kerrigan had knee surgery before the season and then played with a broken hand. He had to have a hand inserted into a bone. Didn't miss one game and still had 9.5 sacks. His 2nd highest total ever. Trent is All Pro again. That's just two guys, there are a ton more who laid it all on the line.

I don't know who here has played the game but if you haven't played you can't know the beating your body takes playing the game. They lay it on the line.

Am I the only person who sees Kerrigan practically tackled by O lineman during many games including yesterday? I am not sure why this has become the normal operating procedure for NFL refs in this era. Anyone suggesting that they get rid of Kerrigan is insane.
